Sam Lewis - Dean |
"Dean is a pretty charming and pretty self-depreciating guy but in
a funny way. I think he actually likes himself a lot, and likes the people around him. The
thing I find interesting is his fascination with morbid things, like horror films. I
actually watch horror films but I think Dean has a more humourous approach to them; inside
I think he laughs at them." - Sam Lewis A graduate of Centre for the Performing Arts in Adelaide, Sam has appeared in many stage productions for the State Theatre of South Australia, Centre for the Performing Arts and the Adelaide Festival. Sam made his first film appearance in CUT, starring alongside ANGST co-star Jessica Napier. ANGST is his first feature film lead role.

Jessica Napier - Jade |

out and do nothing." - Jonathon Green Her performance as Jade in ANGST represents Jessica Napier's fourth feature film, following roles in BLACKROCK, the Camera d'Or winner LOVE SERENADE and CUT, alongside Sam Lewis. Jessica has had key roles in the television series 'Stingers', 'Murder Call', 'Wildside' and has appeared in 'Water Rats', 'Twisted Tales', 'Police Rescue' and 'Echo Point'. She will next be seen in the feature film CITY LOOP.

Justin Smith - Ian |

up and do what he always dreamed of doing." - Jonathon Green Known to Australian audiences for his breakout performance as 'Mark' in the internationally successful stage musical 'Rent', Justin Smith has furthered his career playing Anton in the highly acclaimed ABC production 'Queen Cat Carmel & St Jude'. ANGST is Justin's first feature film.

Abi Tucker - May |

part." - Jonathon Green Abi Tucker's portrayal of May represents her third feature film performance. In addition to roles in the features THE WOG BOY and SNOWDROP, she is best know for her regular appearances in the long-running series HEARTBREAK HIGH and WILDSIDE, and has also appeared in WATER RATS.

Daniel Nettheim - Director |
Daniel Nettheim worked as a photographer and illustrator before graduating from AFTRS
in 1995, and has since won wide acclaim for his short filmmaking. His graduation film THE
BEAT MANIFESTO premiered internationally at the Venice Film Festival, and went on to
achieve awards and recognition at festivals across the world. In 1995 it won three AFI
Awards, including Best Short Film and Best Screenplay. Daniel's other celebrated shorts include ODD JOBS and THE THIRD STROKE, both produced by Jonathon Green, which have achieved commercial and critical success both at home and abroad. In addition to their festival achievements, all of Daniel's films have been released theatrically and have made numerous TV sales. Daniel has also directed commercials, TV drama, multimedia and animation. ANGST is his feature film debut. |

Jonathon Green - Producer |
A film graduate of The University of NSW, U.C.L.A. and AFTRS and former
intern at New Line Cinema (New York) and the Australian Film Finance Corporation, Jonathon
has already covered a lot of producing ground. After two years producing Qantas in-flight entertainment he worked as an Assistant Director on many short films, music videos and commercials. But it was his involvement in the feature films FRAUDS and COMMUNION that confirmed his ambition to produce feature films. Under the banner of Green Light Productions Green has produced six short films including two directed by Daniel Nettheim. All have had wide festival runs highlighted by one being selected for Sundance. He has also produced two television documentaries. Green appears briefly as a sex shop spruiker in the film

Anthony O'Connor - Writer |
ANGST represents Anthony OConnors first produced feature
film screenplay. Bypassing university to devote himself full-time to writing, 23
¼-year-old OConnor wrote four interactive CD ROM multimedia titles for Brilliant
Interactive Ideas: XENA: GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN, XENA: THE RETURN OF CALLISTO, THE EVIL
PEN PAL and HOW I BECAME A FREAK, the latter two being developed by ANGST director Daniel
Nettheim. OConnor also contributed to the screenplay for the feature film SAMPLE PEOPLE (starring Kylie Minogue and Ben Mendelson) providing a dialogue edit and polish. His unproduced horror screenplay THE FATAL LENS and teleplay BOARDERS are in development with Jonathon Green at Green Light Productions. He is currently completing GOTHS, a feature screenplay about the Gothic subculture and working on an as yet unnamed project with Alex (THE CROW, DARK CITY) Proyas. Cinematographer - Tristan Milani |
Graduating from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School
alongside ANGST director Daniel Nettheim, Tristan Milani has accumulated a wealth of
impressive screen credits in his relatively short career to date. An AFI Award nominee for his work on the acclaimed feature THE BOYS, Milani cut his teeth on a number of commercials and successful AFTRS shorts including PALACE CAFÉ, TRAN THE MAN, ROSES ARE RED and UNIVERSAL APPLIANCE COMPANY in addition to the shorts SQUARE ONE, SHOOTING THE BREEZE, TOWEL HEAD, HOPPING MAD and RUST BUCKET. He also shot two episodes of the Jan Chapman produced the series NAKED and recently completed work on a 70mm Imax film entitled SOLARMAX.

Martin Connor has worked on numerous film and television projects. As
Picture Editor his credits include the feature LOOKING FOR ALIBRANDI, the television
series BIG SKY and numerous shorts including FINAL CUT, WHAT'S THE DEAL and BOY. As Associate Editor he worked on the features COSI and TRAPS, and as Assistant Editor worked on LITTLE WOMEN and CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION, and the television series POLICE RESCUE, BODYSURFER and COME IN SPINNER. Connor has also directed video clips and co-written episodes of the television series POLICE RESCUE

After graduating from the Australian Film Television and Radio School
Tara Kamath has worked on an impressive raft of features, short films, television series
and commercials. Her credits include THE MATRIX (Assistant Designer), WELCOME TO WOOP WOOP (Assistant Art Director), THE BEAST (Props Buyer/Set Dresser), RACE THE SUN (Props Buyer/Set Dresser), MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS (Props Buyer/Set Dresser) and the television series HEARTBREAK HIGH, LIVE AND SWEATY and UNDER THE SKIN. She most recently Production Designed the feature film BETTER THAN SEX."

Composer - David Thrussell |
Composer David Thrussell is regarded as one of Australia's foremost
electronic musicians. As a member of the groups SNOG, SOMA and BLACK LUNG, he has found
success on the electronic/alternative charts in Australia, the U.S.A, Germany and France.
An intensive touring schedule has included in recent times headline dates in New York, San
Francisco and Rome, and the premier spot on "Le Musique des Ultimates" a three
day festival of electronic and experimental music in France. ANGST represents his first feature film score.

Costume Designer - Jackline Sassine |
A graduate of Curtin University, WA, Jackline Sassine has designed
costumes for the feature film FRESH AIR and worked as Costume Assistant or Supervisor on
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2, BLACKROCK, UNDER THE LIGHTHOUSE DANCING, TALK, NO WORRIES, SHOTGUN
WEDDING, LOVE IN LIMBO and WIND. For television she has Costume Designed NEVER TELL ME
NEVER, WATER RATS, THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER and 13 GANTRY ROW.
